Established in 2005, Neon Host is a web hosting company specializing in linux-based hosting solutions. We've pioneered new and better ways to make web hosting as easy as possible for our customers, whether they have no website experience or are as tech-savvy as they come.
With a focus on service, uptime and reliability, and ease of use, Neon Host works hard to make our systems the best. In 2006, we maintained an uptime of 99.99%—including both scheduled and unscheduled outages—which is less than one hour of downtime per year.
Our servers are located in NYI, a world-class datacenter just a hop away from NYIIX, one of the major Internet exchanges in the U.S. Our servers boast N+1 redundant systems that sit on two separate power grids. Outages are nearly impossible thanks to the support of standby UPS power cells and an on-site dedicated standby generator.
NYI utilizes multiple ultra-fast SONET connections, including multiple OC3, OC12, OC48 and OC192 connections that enter the building from three separate access points.
Neon Host's datacenter peers with a variety of network backbones, such as AT&T, Sprint and Qwest. We exchange network traffic directly with these carriers, ensuring the best in connectivity.
In addition to a public peering approach, our datacenter also uses a Private Transit Internet connectivity strategy because it provides the very best connectivity, important for customers who depend on the Internet as a strategic resource.
For your protection, our datacenter employs highly dependable cooling controls and fire suppression. A Tate raised floor system with perforated tiles is used for cooling, and cool air from air conditioner units is blown directly into the flooring. The datacenter also uses a pre-action Fike fire alarm system, paired with fire and water sensors on the ceilings and underneath the floors, for the ultimate in protection.
